About the role
The staff member in this role works closely with the Manager and the Senior Data Management Officer in the Clinical Costing team. They will require a working knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of the maintenance and costing methodologies associated with processing whilst proactively looking for quality improvement opportunities to enhance the output of data within West Moreton Hospital and Health Service (WMHHS).
Some of the key responsibilities of the role are:
- Assist in the maintenance, importing and processing of data within the Clinical Costing System for all facilities within the West Moreton Hospital & Health Service, along with undertaking regular reviews and timely audits to ensure data accuracy through routine auditing of the Clinical Costing data.
- Possess a working knowledge of relevant clinical costing systems and statistical gathering techniques. Liaise with feeder system managers or users to improve data integrity and to ensure changes to the source data is correctly reflected.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data accuracy of information for the submission of monthly data to Queensland Health for Non-Admitted patient activity and Bed returns via the MAC On-Line.
- Assist with providing activity & Clinical Costing information to benchmarking groups such as the National Health Cost Data Collection (NHCDC) and The Health Round Table (HRT).
- Assist with auditing and revising Relative Value Units for Intermediate Products to reflect changes within the business areas.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge & skills, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge & skills in maintaining Clinical Costing Systems & linkages to associated Feeder Systems.
- Capability to respond to requests by interpreting, gathering, and sourcing information with the ability to identify the information requirements to develop complex reports utilising SQL queries via Crystal and IntelPlus.
- Demonstrated competence in interpersonal skills, consultation & effective communication with multi-disciplinary groups of professionals with both internal & external clients across the organisation.
- Possess a level of analytical problem solving, statistical gathering techniques & critical evaluation skills in a clinical costing environment.
- Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire skills in clinical costing systems and costing methodologies with an understanding of public hospital and activity-based funding models.
