About the role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant, Assertive Mobile Youth Outreach Service (AMYOS) will provide collaborative system-based care to high risk and difficult to engage adolescents (13-18 years). The role will provide intensive, developmentally-appropriate, community-centred, mental health interventions and ongoing assessment for adolescents who require higher intensity services including risk assessment; crisis management; safety planning treatment; rehabilitation and support to recover from mental illness.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in the provision of clinical services for adolescents with complex presentations who have high risk needs and are difficult to engage within a standard child and youth mental health service setting.
  • Demonstrated high level of organisational, communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills and ability to apply these to contribute to innovation and change within the service unit (AMYOS) to support service delivery and improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services in a specialist area of clinical practice with a high degree of independence and capacity to adapt or modify practice to meet complex and high intensity consumer and carer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, monitor and evaluate service unit initiatives and provide a high level of clinical supervision and advice to Unit and service managers within a specialised area of practice (AMYOS).
