About the role
The purpose of the role is to provide high quality clinical audiological services to both children and adults within West Moreton Health, with particular emphasis on diagnostic assessment and consultation services to patients with hearing issues.
About you
Your success in this role will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘About this role', the ideal person for this role will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
• Clinical Practice:
- Deliver base level audiological clinical services (which may include diagnostics, rehabilitation and case management) within a single or multidisciplinary team in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards, including undertaking routine audiological tasks within established clinical protocols and maintaining accurate and regular reports related to patient care.
- As experience builds, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement / decision making to more complex clinical cases under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
- Provide input in the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the audiology work area, including participation in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient / client care.
- Develop the ability to use evidence-based practice for clinical decision making and accurately record service data in line with departmental guidelines.
• Communication/ Team Participation:
- Actively participate in the activities of the Audiology Department and/or multidisciplinary teams, including actively contributing to departmental planning and developmental processes.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external agencies involved in the case and management of the patient/ client including cooperative work within relevant teams and patients.
- Develop clinical practice knowledge and expertise through active learning within the team and by engaging in professional development activities.
• Leadership/ Work Unit Management:
- Provide clinical practice education and operational supervision to students involved in clinical placements, commensurate with level of clinical experience.
- Provide direction to assistant and support staff (if relevant).
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
