About the role

Provide efficient and effective operational support services within the Operating Theatre area by following established standards and procedures and supporting a highly compatible and supportive working team environment.  The Theatre Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting health professionals in the delivery of patient care. The Operating Officer Theatre supports the health care staff by transporting patients, goods, specimens and equipment within the operating theatre and various departments, undergoing duties in a courteous, effective, and efficient manner. This role may have contact with patients and relatives who are physically, mentally, and emotionally distressed. 

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge and experience or the ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge of working in a theatre environment and in the use of appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Ability to problem solve, use initiative, be able to work without supervision and communicate/work effectively with other members of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • An understanding of the need for confidentiality and the ability to maintain confidentiality of all matters related to West Moreton Hospital and Health Service.
  • Openness to change with the flexibility to respond to change.
  • Ability to provide a patient centred focus to our clients.
