Start a new journey with us! • The Transit Lounge operates a seven day service. Hours are from 0630-2300hrs Monday to Friday; weekends and public holidays 0900-1730hrs. The Clinical Nurse in the Transit Lounge will work afternoons weekdays and day shifts weekends. The role will cover any late in the day/evening discharges and or external transfers and weekends will oversee the Transit Lounge and external transfers

About the role
The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse who is accountable for practice at an advanced level, working collaboratively within the unit and with other members of the health care team including consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies). This role provides the delivery of clinical care and support specific to Transit Care and Flow Units within a acute care setting.
The Clinical Nurse provides contemporary clinical leadership and care within a specific area supporting the general function of the unit through the application of best practice principles, education, leadership and portfolio management in the application and role modelling of professional nursing practice standards in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the area of Adult Acute Care delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate staff and manage delegated resources including prioritising needs and supporting day-to-day changes.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
- Demonstrates a strong team commitment through ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors and maintain a positive workplace culture through well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
