About the role
The Medical Education Officer position supports the provision of education and training for Junior Doctors including Interns. The position will provide a support role to the Principal Medical Education Officer and the Director of Clinical Training in relation to the assessment and provision training needs for prevocational medical graduates to develop, enhance and deliver this training and contributing to the achievement of the required accreditation with the relevant authority.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- An ability to develop and implement education programs and assessment procedures.
- Communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels
- Knowledge and understanding of adult learning principles
- Knowledge and application of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of, curriculum and prevocational accreditation standards for medical education programs
- Problem solving and organisational skills, with the ability to work as part of a team with direct supervision in meeting deadlines
Mandatory Requirements:
- Possession of a Bachelor degree in a Health-related discipline or Adult Education, or a Professional clinical qualification with other formal qualifications in education and/or clinical teaching.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
