About the role

Located within the Clinical Trials Unit at Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research (QCMHR), the Clinical Nurse - Trials uses their advanced mental health experience to assist with mental health clinical trials and intervention studies. The role involves clinical trials participant contact, conducting research assessments, entering and managing research data, managing biological samples, and general research administrative duties.

As a clinical nurse, the role is accountable for practice at an advanced level, and facilitates mental health clinical trials activities for QCMHR investigators, working collaboratively with health services where clinical trials recruitment is being undertaken. The role will require contact with a range of stakeholders including health care teams, consumers/carers, other health professionals, general practitioners and other agencies (including non-Government agencies).

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of clinical trials and nursing experience across a range of clinical disciplines is preferred.
  • Operational and strategic experience in research ethics, governance and clinical trials processes and procedures including a strong understanding of and commitment to the NHMRC National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research, the Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, ICH GCP guidelines and the Queensland Health Research Ethics and Governance Directive and Research Management Policy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to establish and manage productive professional relationships and networks with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Flexible and agile professional mindset and approach, including the ability to manage multiple and complex responsibilities, show initiative, problem solve complex tasks and work autonomously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise way.
