About the role
This role is to deliver Speech Pathology services, appropriate with level of experience, across various caseloads as a member of a multidisciplinary team to patients/clients of the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide evidence-based Speech Pathology clinical services (including assessment, planning, intervention and care co-ordination) to adult inpatients and outpatients with swallowing and communication impairments to facilitate positive patient outcomes.
- With increasing experience, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical Speech Pathology decision making under the clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of more senior staff.
- Participate in the identification, development and implementation of research, quality and service improvement activities, and clinical evidence-based practice procedures and protocols that enhance the delivery of Speech Pathology services within West Moreton Health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Contemporary knowledge and skills in the provision of Speech Pathology services for adults with a variety of swallowing and communication impairments.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, service providers and co-workers at all levels that enable the development of improved service delivery outcomes and effective relationships.
- Ability to initiate, plan, implement, and evaluate local service improvement and/or research initiatives.
- Proactive approach to own continuous learning / networking and shares information with the team to promote a learning environment.
- Effectively prioritises and manages own time to meet and exceed patient/client expectations, with an enthusiastic, calm and flexible approach.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Possession of a tertiary degree or equivalent in Speech Pathology is mandatory.
