About the role
The Registrar/ Principal House Officer (PHO) provides medical services under the supervision of Consultant Psychiatrist that are evidence-based, efficient, effective and equitable to consumers within a public health setting. Registrar/ PHOs are expected to acquire necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) Australian Medical Board requirements in order to practice as a specialist. This program has strong links with the University of Queensland, Ipswich Clinical School.
The Psychiatry Training Program at West Moreton Mental Health and Specialised Services is accredited with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry. Ipswich is a major training location. We currently have over 16 Accredited Training positions covering Stage 1, 2 & 3 placements in Adult, Generalist, Child and Adolescent, Psychogeriatrics, and Consultation-Liaison.

Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
