About the role
Apply advanced, multi-speciality environmental health clinical knowledge and skills to the delivery of complex regulatory and non-regulatory environmental health services to protect, promote, prevent, recognise, evaluate and control risks to the community arising from environmental health hazards that impact on the natural and built environment and human health.
Provide high level operational delivery of environmental health services across multiple sites to protect, promote, prevent, recognise, evaluate and control risks to the community arising from environmental health hazards that impact on the natural and built environment and human health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated high level of knowledge, expertise and skill to deliver routine environmental health services.
- Significant operational field experience across all key program areas including water, vector, tobacco, medicines, communicable diseases and food.
- Demonstrated ability and high-level expertise in the interpretation and enforcement of environmental health legislation and relevant state, national and international standards used in connection with environmental health practice.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice on environmental health matters and ability to participate in a single-discipline or multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate ability to self-manage work activities and proactively find solutions to issues.
- High level written and interpersonal communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to continually develop environmental health practice knowledge and expertise
- Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with and provide authoritative, expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Hold a tertiary qualification accredited by Environmental Health Australia to practice as an Environmental Health Officer
