About the role

Provide clinical care to patients requiring General Surgical Services within the West Moreton Hospital and Health Service.  The candidate will also have to clinically manage the provision, development, and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable service to ensure appropriate patient care.  This includes outpatients, inpatients, elective and emergency General Surgery. In addition, provide professional leadership within the specialty area and provide training, education and supervision to junior medical staff and other health care members.

Salary displayed is based on a full-time annualised salary, this will be pro-rata as applicable to the part-time hours.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
  • MBBS or equivalent registrable with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • CSSANZ required (or will complete in next 6 months)
  • Robotic Trained
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) or equivalent acceptable to the RACS and registrable as a specialist in General Surgery with the Medical Board of
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association within Australia. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
