About the role
The purpose of the role is to deliver high level Physiotherapy clinical services of a complex and independent nature integrating evidenced based practice and district initiatives within the outpatient areas of the Physiotherapy service, including general MSK Outpatients, the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Screening Clinic and Multidisciplinary Service (OPSC & MDS) and within the Emergency Department (ED) setting. Facilitate professional development and clinical practice of pre-entry students and staff in the outpatient physiotherapy and ED settings.
The successful candidate will be required to work a 10 in 14 non-cyclic roster, including weekends.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated clinical experience and skills of a high standard in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and a broad knowledge of current trends and evidence-based practise in relation to medical management and Physiotherapy intervention.
- Conducts practice to exceed customers' expectations, demonstrating strong communication skills whilst providing customers with a professional and flexible service.
- Effectively manages staff, mentoring and delegating and co-ordinating workloads appropriately to maximise the skills of staff.
- Promote a learning environment within the team and be responsible to the learning of others through excellent mentoring, strong group presentation skills and the willingness to share knowledge with others.
- Proactively develops own continuous learning and networks and promotes a learning environment within the team.
- Proactive and motivates others to maintain a continuous improvement focus and actively develops and supports research opportunities for the department.
- Effectively manages self-using strong time management, prioritisation and delegation skills to achieve deadlines.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers, and staff.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Appointment to this position requires proof of a recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and current registration or eligibility for full registration as a Physiotherapist with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
