• Forensic and Secure Services provides specialist secure rehabilitation and forensic mental health services including: High Security Inpatient Service (70 bed), Extended Forensic Treatment Rehabilitation Unit (20 bed), Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (34 bed), Prison Mental Health Services (9 Correctional Centres), General Health Service, Specialist Mental Health Intellectual Disability Service (SMHIDS),Central Staffing Office. Forensic mental health services provide assessment and treatment of people with a mental disorder and a history of criminal offending, or those who are at risk of offending.

About the role
The Nurse Manager (NM) provides an evidence based and contemporary clinical nursing service via operational management and leadership to the Forensic and Secure Services. The Nurse Manager role includes the co-ordination and management of key functions including effective human resource, material and financial management, informatics and after-hours nursing management.
The role of Nurse Manager – Forensic and Secure Services, provides expertise, leadership and is accountable at an advanced practice level for the coordination of patient flow within Mental Health and Specialised Services at The Park. Outside of normal business hours the Nurse Manager provides a point of escalation for care, capacity and demand concerns.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated contemporary forensic mental health nursing clinical expertise to the level and duration specified in the Mandatory Qualification section.
- Demonstrated skill in management including data analysis, outcome evaluation and service improvement.
- Demonstrated management knowledge and skills specifically human resource management including problem solving, conflict resolution, monitoring staff profile/leave management, management of staff placement including casuals and agency nurses.
- Demonstrates and applies sound knowledge of advanced financial literacy within the healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated legislation / policy knowledge and the ability to develop documents supporting the application of same.
- Exemplifies the West Moreton Health Professional Practice Model by demonstrating person-centred care, professional excellence, safe and effective care delivery, commitment to quality and safety, and collaborative practice.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
