About the role
The Sonographer Trainee Clinician is an eligible HP3 clinician who is completing a post graduate diploma in medical ultrasound under the supervision of experienced sonographers.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Deliver Medical Imaging services commensurate with training and experience, within a multidisciplinary team in accordance with:
- prescribed professional and ethical standards
- local protocols, policies, procedures and work-place instructions
- relevant legislation
- Apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the professional guidance of a more senior clinician.

- As experience builds in Medical Ultrasound, apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making under the professional guidance of a more senior clinician.
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity and respect for all patients, carers and staff.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Hold at least a tertiary degree qualification enabling enrolment in a Post Graduate Medical Ultrasound program that is accredited by the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Register.
- Must be registered as a student sonographer with the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Register
If a Radiographer, the successful applicant also must:
- Have, or be eligible to have, current registration with AHPRA
- Have, or be eligible to have, a Licence to Use Irradiating Apparatus issued by Radiation Health, Queensland.
