About the role
The Paediatric Clinical Facilitator will be part of a large and dynamic team, consisting of two Nurse Educators and several Clinical Facilitators, however the Paediatric CF will be responsible for the delivery of at the elbow education and paediatric clinical support to the nursing team.
The Paediatric Emergency Unit (PEU) is a 24-hour emergency service providing care to children, aged under 16 years and their families. The PEU consists of a stand-alone paediatric triage and waiting room area, 6 acute beds and 6 short-term treatment beds.
The Paediatric Nursing team consists of a two Paediatric Nurse Practitioners, a Paediatric Clinical Nurse Consultant, a Paediatric Clinical Nurse, and the nursing team who deliver care to the children and their families. The Paediatric Clinical Facilitator will work closely with the Paediatric Team to ensure that the highest quality of nursing care is delivered to our paediatric community.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge in the area of Paediatrics delivering expert nursing care in complex situations while providing support and direction to other team members.
- Demonstrated ability to role model excellent standards of comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care and documentation to facilitate quality patient outcomes, in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Service and professional standards which impact on nursing practice.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive workplace culture through role-modelling well developed consultation, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, engaging professionally with members of the healthcare team, patients, relatives and visitors.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate staff and manage delegated resources including prioritising needs and supporting day-to-day changes.
- Provide leadership to effectively plan, manage and evaluate health services and patient flows to achieve organisational goals including an understanding of the national emergency access target (NEAT).
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
