About the role
This position provides an efficient and effective client focused Revenue and Administrative service to staff and patients who utilise services both at Ipswich Hospital, The Hayden Centre, Ripley Sub Acute and The Park – Centre for Mental Health.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Provide excellent customer service in a friendly and helpful manner; communicate clearly and confidently with parents, patients, members of the public and departmental staff, both in person and over the telephone.
- Perform daily revenue administrative activities including inpatient, outpatient and sundry debtor invoicing, checking of claim forms and submission of patient accounts to fund holders e.g., Private Health, DVA, Workcover and Third-Party insurance agencies); debtor management and follow up, cash/cheque handling and preparation, receipting and banking, administration and recoupment of petty cash and other trust floats and trust office duties.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Knowledge of or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the legislation and procedures relevant to financial and patient management in the provision of financial practices, including financial procedures, cash handling, revenue and patient accounts management, preferably in a health service environment (e.g. Fees & Charges for accommodation and Outpatient Services).
- Sound computer skills including data entry and use of computer applications such as Microsoft applications (word, excel, electronic mail) and patient databases (e.g. HBCIS, S/4 HANA, MediRecords).
- High level organisational skills with the ability to manage a heavy workload, completing priorities and ability to meet deadlines and work under limited supervision as an individual or a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- High level interpersonal written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate and negotiate successfully with all levels of the private and public sectors on a range of confidential and sensitive issues.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
