The name Mūrrūmba Targan Djimbulung (pronounced mood/oom/bah tah/gan jimba/lung) means ‘good healing my people’ in language gifted to the health service by the region’s three Traditional Owner groups, the Jagera, Yuggera and Ugarapul peoples..

About the role
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Murrumba Targan Djimbulung is a Registered Nurse who is a Nurse Practitioner and demonstrates advanced and expanded clinical skills, knowledge and high level capacity to translate these into contemporary evidence based primary health care for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples with or at risk of chronic health conditions. Within a credentialed scope of practice, the Nurse Practitioner provides nursing leadership, clinical governance, complex care coordination and support for patients of the First Nations service – Murrumba Targan Djimbulung.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated relevant clinical expertise to the level required within Mandatory Qualifications section (above).
- Demonstrated skills and application of data analysis; outcome evaluation; service improvement and development through Quality, Safety and Governance activities.
- Demonstrated advanced and effective interpersonal and written communication skills to enable accurate, complete, and timely assessment, diagnosis, determination and information transfer to patients; their family / carers; nurses; or health professionals team members to support patient-centred care and staff's professional development.
- Leadership proficiency through the articulation of team engagement principles and personal attributes that influence a positive team culture and achieve active collaboration across multidiscipline services.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld) it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
- Registration as a Registered Nurse with Endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner with AHPRA and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
- Ability to meet credentialing requirements of WMH is mandatory for this position.
