    The Parliamentary Service Act 1988 establishes the Parliamentary Service to provide a range of procedural, administrative and support services to the Legislative Assembly, its Members and committees. The Parliamentary Security Service’s role is to provide a professional security service to the Parliament of Queensland. The Parliamentary Security Service is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure environment for Members of Parliament and staff of the Parliamentary Service when in the Parliamentary Complex and visitors to the Parliamentary Complex. The Parliamentary Security Service provides a 24 hour, year round, security service that operates under a twelve (12) hour shift roster system. The system is supplemented by three day work officers whose hours of duty are within the period between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday.

The IT Service Area is located within the Information Services Division. Clients include Members of Parliament, their Electorate Offices (situated within their Electorate) and all Parliamentary Service business areas situated within the Parliamentary Precinct in Brisbane. The Service Area consists of 3 teams: Portfolio, Policy and Architecture Team, Program and Solutions Development and Delivery Team and IT Operations Team. A description of each Team’s role is contained within the position description for the role.

Property Services is responsible for maintaining and improving the physical environment and support facilities within the Parliamentary Precinct in Brisbane and in 97 Member’s Electorate Offices across Queensland. Property Services manages a range of programs covering- • Construction (including a capital works program); • Maintenance (including precinct housekeeping, cleaning and gardens/grounds); • Sustainability (including energy and water management programs); • Workplace health and safety; and • Hospitality (catering) services within the parliamentary precinct in Brisbane

PCS operates in house hospitality services for Members of the Legislative Assembly, staff, visitors and guests. Clients also include visits from international, national and local heads of state, key industry leaders and associations. PCS operates a fine dining restaurant, café & coffee shop, and a high-performing catering and events arm that can hold private and public events for up to 2000 guests.
