An exciting opportunity exists for the Pharmacist Student trainee to join our talent pool and perform a range of clinical support activities and ‘on the job’ skills development while engaged in formal full-time/part-time tertiary studies necessary to acquire the relevant entry level qualification (mandatory) for employment as a Health Practitioner in Queensland.

With relevant supervision, the Pharmacist Student will deliver clinical services within the agreed scope of the role and experience as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health. These services are delivered in accordance with the goals, policies and requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS).
Staff at HP1 level may be required to rotate across SCHHS at times to assist with managing workloads. SCHHS is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south to Gympie in the north.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Work within a scope of practice that is commensurate with the level of knowledge and skill development of current tertiary studies.
- Perform duties to support medication supply processes which include dispensing and imprest distribution, working under the direct clinical practice supervision of Pharmacists, with the quality of work output closely assessed.
- Provide a defined range of patient interventions as delegated by the supervising Pharmacist.
- Work within scope that is consistent with the level of knowledge and skill development.
Salary rates: $38.07 - $44.78 p.h. (HP1)(casual positions). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
