Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist - Anaesthesia

As a Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist, you'll work closely with Clinical Directors to provide top-tier Specialist Anaesthesia services at CQHHS, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness within resource limitations.

In this role, you will provide education and guidance to trainees, junior medical staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals, including nursing staff. Additionally, you will oversee the daily operations of Anaesthesia services, contributing to patient safety initiatives, clinical audits, the investigation and resolution of adverse incidents and complaints, research projects, and service planning efforts.

About the role:

Become part of a great team committed to delivering great care to Central Queenslanders and enjoying life. The position of Senior Staff Specialist/Staff Specialist is to assist the Clinical Directors in:

  • Ensuring that Specialist Anaesthesia services provided by CQHHS are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.
  • The education and supervision of trainees, junior medical staff, medical students and other health practitioners including Nursing staff.
  • The day-to-day management of Anaesthesia services including active participation in patient safety, clinical audit, investigation and management of adverse clinical incidents and complaints, research, and service planning activities.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • MBBS or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Registration or eligibility for registration as a Specialist in Anaesthesia with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority (AHPRA). In general, this will require Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA).
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing CME program of appropriate College.

Salary Information (L18-L24):

Total remuneration value of $427,113 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary between $204,206 - $237,196 p.a.

Salary Information (L25-L27):

Total remuneration value of $514,421 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary between $244,201 - $258,910 p.a.
