Special education experience is essential for this role. The position is working with young people in a special school environment that present with complex and challenging behaviours, often requiring 1:1 support whilst at school. Previous experience working with students who have complex behaviour and communication challenges, experience with trauma informed practices and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is required. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly form relationships with all stakeholders, including families and external stakeholders would also be essential.
