About the role

Permanent full time opportunity to oversee and provide operational management of the Indigenous Mental Health Intervention Program (IMHIP) in the delivery of social and emotional wellbeing and mental health support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients currently located in the Brisbane Women's Correctional Centre, Southern Queensland Women's Correctional Centre and the Woodford Correctional Centre with possibility of expansion in the future.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

  • Provide advanced level leadership, applying social and emotional wellbeing, clinical, and operational management skills in the development, monitoring and quality activities of the Indigenous Mental Health Intervention Program.
  • Use a combination of high-level clinical skills and cultural knowledge to support the team to inform assessment and treatment, care planning and quality improvement of the mental health and social emotional wellbeing services provided by the team including cultural advice to Psychiatrists
  • Oversee the management of clients with varying needs such as substance use (alcohol and other drugs), cultural needs, trauma, grief and social support needs.
  • Apply independent clinical judgment to complex clinical decision making, monitor and report on clinical practice and outcomes within the clinical service area, and actively participate in quality and service improvement activities.
