The humble town of Cooktown in Far North Queensland is planning to reopen a refreshed birthing service, giving the communities of Cooktown, Hope Vale, Wujal Wujal, and Laura,  the chance to welcome their little ones closer to home. This facility ensures families can have access to top-notch medical, midwifery, and multi-disciplinary care without the need for long-distance travel.

As a Senior Medical Officer working in Torres and Cape HHS, your expertise, skills and dedication play a crucial role in providing quality care and ensuring positive outcomes for patients across the Torres and Cape. Expand your expertise and take on new challenges in a supportive and dynamic environment.  Working in a Rural Generalist model of care, across the spectrum of primary care, indigenous health, emergency service and inpatient care as well as the Cooktown birthing service.
