The Senior Inspector works in a team of Petroleum and Gas Inspectors who provide support to the Regional Inspector in the delivery of regulatory outcomes driven by the organisation's objective of 'Zero Serious Harm'.

Our Petroleum and Gas Inspectors work with industry & gas work licence holders to improve health and safety outcomes through data driven, risk-based decision making principles.
In this role, you will:
- Conduct inspections and audits of petroleum and gas facilities under the Petroleum & Gas (Safety & Production) Act 2004.
- Conduct and or assist other inspectors in undertaking investigations into alleged non-compliance with the Act in accordance with the RSHQ Compliance and Enforcement Policy and relevant procedures.
- Provide accurate, consistent and authoritative advice to the Regional Inspector in relation to safety in the petroleum and gas industry, as well as regulation, standards, and operational matters.
- Promote safety within the petroleum and gas sector including with gas work licence holders, industry, across Government and the public.
- Participate in a 24 hour emergency response roster as an Inspector as per the agreed roster. May include being recalled to work when emergencies or incidents occur in accordance with award conditions.
