Principal Project Officer, Online Assessment

The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) has an exciting opportunity for two (2) Principal Project Officers to join our Online Assessment Branch, on a fixed term, temporary basis. These roles will act as change agents, designing and implementing educationally sound K-12 online assessment for all students in Queensland.

What you will do
In this role, you will:
- Lead research and formulate recommendations to support evidence-based planning and decision making on matters relating to online assessment, trends, innovations and future developments.
- Lead the analysis of Queensland practice to inform the development of an online assessment solution for K-12 across QCAA and Queensland schools and sectors to support quality outcomes and a future focussed system.
- Lead the internal QCAA change management strategy for online assessment across three divisions (Assessment Reporting & ICT Systems, Curriculum Services, Strategy Planning and Corporate Support)
- Lead a national and international jurisdictional review of online assessment best practice.
- Lead statewide trials of assessment implementation.
- Provide expert advice to the Director (including the development of briefs and reports) on innovative and emergent issues that may require innovative and targeted responses or emerging issues across the nation or internationally that impact the educational, assessment, system design or development environment.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of high-quality project management practices.
- Contribute to a change management and performance development culture by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with your Director and colleagues, and through the implementation of an individual Performance and Development Plan (PDP).

Technical Capabilities
- Demonstrated knowledge, currency and expertise in Queensland assessment practice.
- Demonstrated, deep understanding of online pedagogy.
- Capability to collaborate with internal and external teams to design and implement innovative and/or high stakes projects desirable.
- Capability to design, implement and manage high-risk large-scale projects or systems desirable.
