We are looking for a Manager Projects to lead our high performing team within Plant Biosecurity and Product Integrity to:
• Provide leadership, support and direction of the Varroa Mite Innovation and Resilience Initiative to ensure the successful management of all aspects of the program of work.
• Actively contribute to the strategic planning processes including the development of operational plans related to preparedness for a varroa mite transition to management strategy.
• Represent Biosecurity Queensland at state and national forums, media events and at industry and community engagement meetings, reflecting a professional, consultative and reasoned approach.
• Proactively develop and maintain professional relationships, networks and partnerships with stakeholders, including government, community and industry groups to facilitate effective outcomes.

Working within Plant Biosecurity and Product Integrity, you will lead the Varroa Mite Innovation and Resilience Initiative team which seeks to minimise the impacts of Varroa mite on Queensland's honey bee and pollination-reliant industries. Yourefforts will be integral in safeguarding affected stakeholders by collectively managing Varroa mite through shared responsibility with industry.
You will know that you're achieving success in the role when you:
• Lead and direct strategic and operationally effective activities of Queensland's Varroa Mite Innovation and Resilience Initiative (VMIRI) to deliver on thedepartment's strategic objectives on time, within budget and to a high level of quality.
• Prepare and provide comprehensive, high quality and timely strategic advice tothe Director-General, the Office of the Minister and senior departmental staff on issues, opportunities, risk mitigation strategies, contentious matters and successes related to varroa mite management activities.
• Be a key representative regarding the VMIRI team on behalf of Biosecurity Queensland to all key stakeholders; provide authoritative advice on varroa mite management activities to senior leaders, managers and staff while simultaneously provide ongoing advocacy for the project and effective management of expectations on all sides.
