Payments and Receipting Officer

The purpose of this position is to ensure that all creditor invoices are entered and paid accurately in accordance with the terms agreed to by QBCC, with each of its creditors and that the accounts payable database is accurately maintained and reconciled monthly and liaising with internal and external customers to related issues. This position is also responsible to accurately process customer receipting data and associated documentation to facilitate the timely processing of funds and provide an excellent level of customer service to other QBCC divisions and to reconcile daily receipting and cash takings for banking.

Position is located in Brisbane and the successful candidate will need to enter into a Flexible Work Arrangement upon commencement to reflect the office location you are seeking to work from.
If working from a regional office, travel to the Brisbane office will be required regularly (frequency to be negotiated with successful candidate) to fulfil operational business needs.
Key Outcomes and Accountabilities
The aim of this role is to undertake a range of duties including:
- Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner (including creation and maintenance of supplier master data).
- Receipt monies and attend to customer enquiries in regard to receipts.
- Reconcile daily receipting balance and takings.
- Filing, archiving and managing emails daily.
- Maintain procedures.
- Other tasks as directed by the Senior Payments and Receipting Officer, Financial Accountant and Finance Manager.
Candidate Attributes
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Acquire clerical and administrative processing skills with a high level of accuracy, including the ability to organise work and meet deadlines in a high volume processing environment.
- Process incoming and outgoing workplace information within established guidelines and procedures.
- Communicate, consult, liaise, negotiate and maintain an effective network with a variety of people and deliver quality services to both internal and external customers.
- Work effectively with others in a team.
