Junior Legal Officer.
In this role you will:
* Participate in the provision of less complex legal advice and recommendations (bothwritten and oral) in the varied practice areas listed above and in relation to PBQ activities which may involve contentious issues, are often of a complex and sensitive nature and the subject of litigation or under consideration by the Minister, Commissioner, executive leadership team and other senior officers.
* Prepare timely advice, reports, correspondence and briefing notes on various legal issues in relation to PBQ activities and law reform initiatives of external agencies.
* Under supervision, manage a caseload of files and ensure all work complies with quality and case management standards and meets all other professional and corporate responsibilities.
* Assist more senior legal officers through professional maturity, sensitivity and understanding of agency context when dealing with legal matters.
* Undertake legal research, analysis, review and evaluation in order to provide high quality legal advice to internal clients across PBQ.
* Establish, develop and maintain co-operative and mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications, Professional Registration, Conditions and Other Requirements:
* Admission as a solicitor, barrister or legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland or eligibility for immediate admission.
* A current Queensland Practising Certificate is preferred but not essential for this role.
