About the role:

In this role you will:
• Manage and lead significant and complex projects (including policy development) delivered by a small project team.
• Identify and analyse issues of importance relevant to the department's strategic reform agenda.
• Influence policy outcomes through constructive working relationships and networks (both formal and informal) across the department, across the Queensland Government and with key industry stakeholders, and Commonwealth agencies.
• Coach and advise project leads and sponsors to solve emerging issues and ensure program delivery.
• Prepare and or oversee the preparation of timely advice on sensitive and complex issues, including through submissions, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence for consideration by Executive Management, the Director-General, the Minister and other senior government officials.
• Conduct and coordinate substantial high-level research and analysis on a range of policy issues in the resources portfolio and the wider economic development space that identifies key opportunities, constraints, and risks.
• Other duties as directed and required.

This position requires:
• There are no mandatory requirements for this role however, knowledge of legislative and policy frameworks for land administration, mining and/or the data and digital priorities of the Queensland Government would be highly regarded.
