The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to join the Financial Services. The Financial Services is responsible for strategic financial, budget and accounting advisory services to the agency. The unit is responsible for overseeing the financial activities of the QCAA.

What you will do
In the Senior Budget Analyst role, you will:

• Lead the Financial Management team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of reporting, budgetary, forecasting and advisory services.
• Contribute to the development of the annual capital and operational budgets including liaising with managers and providing advice on the development of their individual budgets.
• Develop and maintain the agency's budget management and reporting systems.
• Provide monthly reporting to support the monitoring and analysis of business areas' performance in terms of expenditure, identifying and explaining variances.
• Prepare short and long-term forecast projections for agency-wide activities in consultation with stakeholders.
• Provide analysis, recommendations and expert advice to the Manager, Financial Services and stakeholders to inform sound management decisions within funding constraints.
• Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials on budget development, financial policy and financial management issues.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures and practices that facilitate and support management accounting within the agency.
• Contribute to a change management and performance development culture across the unit by participating in regular two-way feedback discussions with your supervisor and team members.

Reporting relationships
This role reports to the Manager, Financial Services. One role reports directly to this role.
