About us:

Gladstone Hospital, a 70-bed facility, provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including Emergency, General Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, and Mental Health. Biloela Hospital, a 25-bed facility, offers comprehensive services including emergency care, obstetrics, surgical, and allied health services to surrounding districts.

About the role:

The Senior Medical Officer ensures safe anaesthetic services at Gladstone and Biloela Hospitals, supporting clinical excellence and professional development across multiple CQHHS facilities.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. The incumbent is required to maintain registration with the Medical Board of Australia at all times.
  • Joint Consultative Committee on Anaesthesia (JCCA) / Diploma of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia.

While not mandatory the following qualifications would be well regarded:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP),
  • Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or evidence of acceptance as a trainee of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

What we offer:

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of $498,376 p.a. (L27); $458,574 p.a. (L25); $386,725 p.a. (L18); $349,890 p.a. (L14) is comprised of:

  • Salary rates between $182,106 - $266,677 p.h. (L13 – L27)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Other benefits include:

  • Professional Development Leave - 3.6 weeks p.a.
  • Professional Development Allowance - $21,500 p.a.
  • Motor Vehicle Allowance
  • Over-time and on-call allowances
  • Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance (Granted Private Practice arrangements)
