About the role
Fixed-term temporary full time opportunity to lead the establishment phase of the Heart Lung Research Institute (HLRI), which includes the development and implementation of a sustainable business and funding model and the formalization of HLRI's academic and philanthropic partners, who are committed to working with Metro North to advance heart and lung research for the benefit of our patients – locally and globally.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide executive leadership in the development and implementation of a world-class heart and lung research institute.
- Articulate a compelling vision and define and implement an overarching research strategy in alignment with the Metro North Health Research Strategy.
- Effectively liaise and negotiate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Metro North facilities universities and research institutions, philanthropic and industry organisations, and State and Commonwealth government agencies.
