The role:
As a Principal Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the initiation, planning and successful completion of ICT projects in line with Queensland Health project management methodologies. Potentially managing several in-flight projects simultaneously, you will deliver successful projects within agreed timeframes, budget, and quality standards.
This role will be required to deploy ICT infrastructure and associated services to existing and new build health care facilities, managing the effective transition of ICT services while ensuring patient care is not disrupted.
You will ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with Queensland Health strategies, architecture, and best practice guidelines.
You will ensure performance against project plans and budgets is met. Additionally, you will enable informed decision making on project issues by developing timely and relevant written submissions, briefs, presentations, and information papers for project stakeholders.

We are seeking candidates with high level leadership skills and the ability to translate business requirements into achievable deliverables. To be successful in this role, you will have extensive experience in the delivery of IM/ICT projects, preferably in the health care industry. You will possess a high level of expertise and knowledge of appropriate project management methodologies, preferably PRINCE2, and the ability to provide expert advice on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools.
An understanding of the operational environment within hospitals and the role that ICT plays to support them is desirable.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation, integration and migration of ICT infrastructure and telecommunications services (e.g., WAN, LAN, Data Centre, Unified Communications etc.), in association with building construction, will be highly regarded.
Proven experience in the configuration, testing and deployment of applications and system integration in health care facilities is desirable.
You will require high level interpersonal, negotiation, consultation, and communication skills to create a strong client focus. Proven ability to lead and manage multiple multi-disciplinary project teams will be an essential requirement in this role. To be successful in this role you will utilise your abilities to work in a team environment and develop effective working relationships with stakeholders.
Statewide travel is a requirement of this role. A class C driver's license is essential.
