The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to the delivery of customer focussed payroll service to clients of Queensland Health through payroll and related administrative processes and systems. The Senior Payroll Officer in Payroll Transactional Services reports to the Service Coordinator.

The successful candidate will accurately perform payroll functions including rostering and HR master data maintenance in a timely manner.  Aditionally, you will process master data and rostering adjustments in payroll systems in accordance with payroll standard business processes and relevant industrial legislation.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary Human Resource Management issues, as well as the ability to access and interpret relevant industrial awards, agreements, statutory regulations, and legislation relating to payroll.
  • Demonstrated advanced conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving abilities in relation to complex payroll and establishment issues including utilising a risk management approach to the prioritisation and management of complex cases.
  • Proven ability to support and mentor payroll staff and contribute to ongoing individual and team development and effectiveness and the achievement of agreed performance objectives.
  • Demonstrated advanced interpersonal, communication and client services skills with a diverse range of clients.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
