In the role of Designer (Civil), you will operate in a multidisciplinary team environment and be responsible for the development and review of planning and design projects as components of transport infrastructure projects.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and quantifying transport infrastructure design models in the strategic planning, concept, development, and implementation phases.
• Managing and undertaking key components of the planning and design function for transport infrastructure projects to achieve successful completion within time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.
• Ensuring that planning and design principles are implemented in accordance with the relevant policies, standards, guidelines and legislation, and that quality management procedures are adhered to.
• Implementing the most suitable design process for project delivery, including investigating, analysing and conceptualising design options to meet project objectives.
• Assist with the review of transport infrastructure design drawings and documentation provided by external design consultancies.
• Providing technical advice and support in relation to planning and design processes for transport infrastructure projects. This can encompass corridor planning, program development, delivery, and finalisation.
• Development of effective relations with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address needs, expectations and issues that may affect the successful delivery of projects.

To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
• A minimum three-year, Sydney Accord accredited engineering degree such as a bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) or recognised equivalence.

Requirements of the role:
• Demonstrates sound governance - Demonstrates respect and appreciation for legislation and policy frameworks by consistently operating to key standards. Evaluates possible solutions and takes appropriate steps to mitigate risks.
• Planning and Design - Demonstrates experience in the planning and design competency elements and contributes to the development of the capabilities of others.
• Project/Program Management - Plan and manage using project management principles and methodology to achieve project outcomes.
