An exciting opportunity is currently available for experienced Registrars or Principal House Officers to join the General Medicine Team at the Hervey Bay and Maryborough Hospital within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The Wide Bay area is arguably one of the most beautiful regions of Queensland. The Health Service stretches from Agnes Water in the North to Maryborough in the South and provides acute care services to a population of over 225,000 residents including several rural communities.

Eligible Applicants who move to Queensland from an interstate or international jurisdiction to take up permanent or temporary greater than 12 months employment may receive up to $20,000 incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Scheme

Your opportunity:

  • To participate in the provision, development and maintenance of an effective, efficient and equitable clinical service to the hospital patients.
  • To contribute to the continual upgrading of medical education, and dissemination of knowledge to staff and patients.
  • The appointment will be to the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service for the provision of services to Hervey Bay or Maryborough Hospitals.
  • A Principal House Officer is a medical practitioner in the third or subsequent year of practical experience after eligibility for full registration as a medical practitioner.

Several Temporary Full Time Positions (76 hours p.f.) from date of appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension.

Prior to being made an offer of employment, you will be required to demonstrate immunity to the following Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD): Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (chicken pox) and Pertussis (whooping cough).

From 9th December 2019 all new employees will be required to be assessed for their risk of Tuberculosis (TB).  For further information regarding TB please visit Queensland Health website: Tuberculosis

Our offer:

You will receive a competitive remuneration package value up to $175,370 p.a., comprising salary between $129,583 - $150,240 p.a., (L4-L9) employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) and vocational training subsidy.  (Several Temporary Full Time Positions, 76 hours p.f., from date of appointment for 12 months with the possibility of extension).
