Role details

The Care in The Right Setting at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse to join their team on a temporary basis.

Your opportunity

  • The Clinical Nurse is an advanced level clinician who is responsible for a portfolio with a focus on clinical care/leadership, management, education and/or research, providing leadership, direction, and support to other nursing staff, students and the interdisciplinary team.
  • The CaRS Clinical Nurse provides advanced level clinical skills to ensure patient-focused evidence-based nursing care, plans and coordinates the clinical management of patient/client care and provides leadership and support to other nursing staff within the Care in the Right Setting (CaRS) Unit. The clinical Nurse will work across both GEDI (Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention) HiTH (Hospital in the Home) and GEMR-HITH (Geriatric Emergency Management Rehab-Hospital in the Home) . The applicant will have demonstrated experience, knowledge and skills that support employment within these two specialities.

About the Team

Care in the Right Setting is an Integrated Model consisting of Hospital in the Home (HiTH), New uplift of Geriatric Emergency Management Rehab-Hospital in the Home (GEMR-HiTH), Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention (GEDI), Residential Aged Care Support Service (RaSS), and Virtual Health, and other Hospital Optimisation / Substitution services, with the expressed aim to provide medical, nursing, and allied health care to patients in an appropriate setting. Patients receive quality care that is tailored to their individual needs.

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
