About your opportunity:

In this position you will:

  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to treating teams in the management and monitoring of patients with complex forensic issues (including a mandated role with Forensic Order patients).
  • Develop and maintain positive liaison contact with mental health staff and other relevant stakeholders in community and inpatient settings and work collaboratively to address complex and challenging patient risk and management issues.
  • Undertake specialist risk assessments using structured risk assessment tools and protocols, and write comprehensive reports based on these assessments, as well as provide follow up support to treating teams in implementing recommendations and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide a range of consultation-liaison support including case conferences, structured case consultations, attendance at and input into team case review meetings, participation in review processes, and so on, including attendance at Assessment and Risk Management Committee meetings.
  • Deliver training and education in forensic mental health topics.
