The Division of Allied Health and Rehabilitation (DAHR) are looking for a Speech Pathologist Team Leader Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (BIRS) - Advanced Clinical Leader to join their team. The BIRS speech pathology team, DAHR is co-located near the brain injury ward and Day Hospital in the Geriatric Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit (GARU) with the geriatric unit speech pathology team and Audiology department.

About the Role

This position delivers advanced Speech Pathology services to stakeholders/consumers within the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, Princess Alexandra Hospital to achieve excellence in patient care, education, and research. This includes implementing and monitoring operational activities and leading professional governance activities for a team of Speech Pathologists, Speech Pathology Clinical Assistants and Speech Pathology Trainees in the BIRS Speech Pathology Team.

  • Deliver specialised Speech Pathology clinical and consultancy services to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service. Deliver advanced clinical and consultancy services to the following services (Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, including the inpatient ward and Day Hospital) in accordance with accepted professional practices, legal and ethical requirements with a high degree of independence.
  • Apply advanced level independent professional judgment regarding the assessment and treatment planning of complex patients.
  • Provide high quality clinical supervision to Speech Pathologists, Speech Pathology Trainees, and Allied Health Assistants to support effective and efficient service delivery of Speech Pathology services to the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service.
