This role provides direct care to a variety of medical and endocrine patients, including acute patients requiring telemetry monitoring, geriatric and diabetic patients, and those needing specialised endocrine testing.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Registered Nurse (Vascular and General Medical Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. 

You will

• Provide direct care including planning, implementing and evaluating individual care of the patients
• Have knowledge of wound care or the ability to learn within a given time frame
• Actively partakes in activities that provide safety for patients, staff and visitors
• Support newly graduated nurses, enrolled nurses and students 

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent part time (72 hrs p.f.)
• Base salary ranging from $41.73 - $53.53 per hour

About Us

Gold Coast University Hospital's Vascular and Medical Unit (VAMU) is a 28-bed Inpatient Unit that currently encompasses in excess of 500 beds. Telemetry is available throughout the unit to support medical and other patients that may require monitoring. The unit also specialises in vascular pre- and post-operative care and wound care including diabetic foot ulcer.
