Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships is a Division of the Dept of Environment, Science & Innovation, and manages land and sea areas throughout the state, covering approximately 13 million hectares of terrestrial reserves, 72,000km² of state marine parks, 344,000km² of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, 1.2 million hectares of fish habitat areas and approximately 500 protected area islands.

This extensive operational environment requires the QPWS&P WHS team to offer professional WHS advice to the workforce on a range of risks and hazards, with the aim of reducing workplace incidents and injuries and advising on operational implementation of the Dept of Environment, Science & Innovation's Safety Management System.
