As a Project Officer you will be working within the Research and Development (R&D) Business Systems team to support and maintain Agri-Science Queensland’s R&D project management system for the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries and other agencies by applying your expertise in SQL coding, and data analysis to improve business management processes and outcomes.

As our Project Officer, you will:
• Provide support to the Senior Project Officer and the Manager, R&D Business Systems, in the ongoing operation, development and maintenance of the in-house project management system.
• Utilise your SQL knowledge and skills in responding to reporting needs and adhoc information requests and develop customised reports and data visualisations using SQL and dashboard tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI and/or Microsoft reporting services).
• Provide support in project handover tasks, such as user assurance testing, production releases and user training.
• Provide support in developing solutions to potential business needs in consultation with the R&D business systems team and Agri-Science Queensland business management.
• Engage with the R&D Business Systems team, DAF and external stakeholders to provide support and assist in developing solutions.

Technical Skills required:
• Have knowledge and experience in the development, support and testing of database systems.
• Demonstrates the ability to use and write SQL querying language.
• Demonstrates the ability to create customised reports and data visualisations using SQL and dashboard tools (e.g. Microsoft Power Bi and/or Microsoft reporting services).
• Experience in supporting software development needs and in providing user assurance testing and assisting with user training.
