About the role
To deliver high quality nutrition and dietetic clinical services to consumers experiencing acute mental illness (including alcohol and drug issues) in a general mental health inpatient setting. This position operates as a member of an integrated, multidisciplinary mental health team with a focus on planning and provision of clinical care and therapeutic interventions within a recovery framework.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro North's mission and key priorities, as outlined below.
- Ensure consumers, carers and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Liaise with Dietetic Assistants and provide direction where appropriate with respect to malnutrition and organising and monitoring patient's nutrition support to ensure a high-quality nutrition service.
- Contribute to the development of treatment and discharge plans and prioritising and developing service provision to ensure optimal health outcomes for consumers.
- Exercise increasingly independent clinical judgement and core problem solving skills and appropriate risk management strategies to a complex caseload with supervision from a more senior clinician, commensurate with level of knowledge and clinical expertise.
