Springfield Central State High School seeks a motivated individual to join a high-performing team dedicated to enhancing the school environment and aesthetics to support teaching, learning, safety and well-being of students and staff. As a vital member of the support staff, you will directly contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the school by providing high-level grounds and facilities care, including building and grounds maintenance, repairs, and overall support to ensure a welcoming and safe school community. This position is offered on a permanent part-time basis (0.2FTE and 14.5 hours per fortnight) unless otherwise determined.

This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.

About the role:
As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate. You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature. As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will not be required to perform any task or repairs that would normally require the services of a qualified tradesperson.
Responsibilities include:
- Undertake work duties and manage school-based processes and procedures for grounds and facilities maintenance.
- General maintenance of the school facilities such as repairs, moving teaching equipment, general installations.
- Liaise with scheduled and emergency contractors for general maintenance and repairs.
- Provide support for large school events, such as fetes, plays, and major sporting activities.
- Comply with work place health and safety policies and procedures.
- Competent or ability to acquire computer skills in order to use school-based programs effectively.
