The Rural and Remote Senior Case Manager is responsible for consulting with relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations to assist in closing the gap of Indigenous over-representation within the criminal justice system.

A career as a Senior Case Manager with Community Corrections is an exciting opportunity for you to make a real difference in your community. The Senior Case Manager ensures a high level of community safety through the case management of offenders in accordance with their assessed risk and need and maintains high standards of offender assessment practices that facilitate effective supervision and improve reintegration and rehabilitation of high-risk sexual and violent offenders.

The essential requirements for this role are:

• Able to demonstrate experience working within a legislative framework that underpins a core service delivery area.
• Able to work self-sufficiently and be confident in your own professional discretion, reasoning, judgement and decision-making skills prior to seeking management validation.
• Able to demonstrate previous experiences of fostering a new relationship and receiving positive reinforcement in return to demonstrate the relationship was well developed.
• Communicate professionally and engages with respect with colleagues, offenders, management and stakeholders. Experience in working collaboratively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to embrace diversity and maximise the whole range of skills and differences available within the workforce.

Qualifications and other requirements:

• Individuals employed on a permanent or temporary basis will be required to complete Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community). All activities and assessments associated with the Certificate IV are to be completed within 12 months of commencing employment, and certification achieved within 18 months.
• Travel on official business will occur in this position and the possession of a C class licence is required and will be mandatory in specific locations where it is identified as essential by the hiring panel.

The successful applicant may be eligible to receive relocation expenses under the Transfer and Appointment Expenses Directive 11/11.

This position is based in a regional location. Remote Area Incentive Scheme (RAIS) benefits may apply to eligible applicants.
