Townsville Hospital and Health Service, is the public healthcare provider for the government areas of Townsville, Burdekin, Charters Towers, Flinders, Richmond, Hinchinbrook and Palm Island; operating 21 facilities from primary care in regional locations to highly specialised care at the main hospital.

Richmond Multi-purpose Health Service is an acute facility that provides an accident and emergency service, a general medical/surgical ward, long-stay elder care and daily outpatient session.

An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Nurse to join the team on a fixed term temporary part-time basis, working 32 hours per fortnight, for 10 months.

About the opportunity:

Position: Clinical Nurse

Vacancy: Fixed term temporary part-time, 10 months, 32 hours per fortnight

Location: Richmond

The Clinical Nurse Community Health will coordinate services that are inclusive of visiting allied health, women's health and sexual health, paediatric services and oral health for the Richmond and surrounding district. The community nurse will provide community-based health care inclusive of child health and immunisation clinics and home visiting to promote, maintain and improve the health and well-being of the Richmond population by utilising holistic and comprehensive assessment practices to develop and implement care plans in consultation with key health care providers.  The PHN deliver allied health services as per schedule.

  • Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. (NG6-1)
  • Annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available
  • Rural and Remote Incentive Package (RANIP): Successful applicants to this position may be eligible for the Rural Area Nursing Incentive Package.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable: Graduate certificate in Community Health and/or Child Health.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate. 
  • Possession of class C drivers' licence.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including NDIS or Aged Care screening.
