The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment. Our focus is on autonomy, self-determination, and working collaboratively towards independent living. All consumers are over 18 years of age.

About Your New Role
Are you looking for a role with real meaning and purpose? Gold Coast Health have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychologist – Senior to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Unit and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high level clinical Psychology services
- Provide efficient, responsive and recovery-orientated mental health care
- Provide evidence-based Psychometric assessment, preparation of psychological reports and treatment recommendations
- Provide intensive, developmentally appropriate, consumer-centred, mental health interventions
- Utilise independent clinical reasoning and professional judgement
Qualifications
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Tertiary degree in Psychology
- A graduate certificate or greater within a relevant specialty area is highly desirable
- Registration with AHPRA
- Driver licence
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- Base salary ranging from $128 169 - $137 918 per annum
