RoadTek is currently seeking a highly motivated and reliable Mechanical Tradesperson/Diesel Fitter with a sharp attention to detail to complete our existing team in our workshop in Wide Bay.
This appointment is a highly sought after permanent full-time position that has access to many employee benefits. RoadTek is a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads. We provide transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland.

In the role of Mechanical Tradesperson/Diesel Fitter you will undertake mechanical maintenance activities in both a workshop and field environment ensuring equipment is kept in a safe and reliable condition. This position plays a multi-faceted and critical role in identifying, diagnosing, repairing and reporting on faults and condition of a modern fleet of trucks, trailers, earthmoving and auxiliary equipment. Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions:
• Completion of an apprenticeship in a trade such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or similar equivalent trade certificate qualification.
• QLD Open 'C Class' Drivers Licence. The successful applicant will be required to work to obtain a HR Class Drivers Licence within a reasonable time following commencement.
• Periodically work a weekend roster or other roster to undertake workshop or field service activities.
• As a Mechanical Tradesperson/Diesel Fitter, you may be required or have an opportunity, to travel to other service locations in the Wide Bay Region to undertake workshop or field service activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel as per relevant awards/agreements.
