Your role within Housing and Homelessness Services will support the department to deliver innovative and accountable program development and management for the department’s investment in housing and homelessness services including management of outsourced service delivery and initiatives to improve long-term outcomes for Queenslanders requiring housing and homelessness assistance. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.
The role works collaboratively with not-for-profit, for-profit and government partners to achieve a more effective and integrated service system and improved long-term outcomes for clients requiring housing and homelessness assistance.

4x Temporary Roles Available based in Brisbane CBD.
As the Principal Program Officer, you will help to deliver innovative and accountable program management of the department's investment in housing and homelessness.
We are looking to find the person best suited for the role and will be considering your knowledge, skills, experience, potential for development and future contribution to the department as well as your personal qualities and how they contribute to our department's equity and diversity objectives which aim to build a workforce that reflects the Queensland community.
• You consider wider organisational objectives when making decisions and going about your work, assisting the team to adapt to a changing environment and encourage creativity and innovation.
• You understand customer and stakeholder perspectives, and in particular have an appreciation of the role and perspective of the social housing sector and the sector's tenants.
• You manage team performance including breaking down projects into objectives and goals; organising the team to deliver the required work program; providing advice that is rigorously considered and supported by a clear rationale; looking beyond the obvious; and persisting in analysis and solutions.
• You manage internal and external relationships; working collaboratively with others; and building a cohesive and supportive team environment.
• You model professional and ethical behaviour and are consistent in word and action.
Mandatory Requirement
• While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, experience in drafting and implementing social policy, program and/or contract management or an operational knowledge of the housing, homelessness, child protection or youth justice service system are highly desirable.
