The Ipswich Hospital is seeking a highly organised and detail oriented Administration Officer to join our Emergency Department (ED) team. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to handle a fast paced environment and a commitment to delivering exceptional admin support in an emergency setting. About the role

Provide and maintain a highly responsive and effective administrative support and customer service function to the 24 hour Emergency Department Reception.  Contribute to patient flow by performing a support role to nursing and medical staff in the department.

About you

  • Technical Knowledge
    • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
      Knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information from patient medical records and hospital information systems
    • Proficiency in the application of internal hospital information systems in addition to Microsoft Word and Excel

Mandatory Requirements:

  • This position is required to work as part of a 24 hour/ 7 day a week roster.
  • This position is required to work public holidays and therefore an entitlement of 6 weeks annual leave will be provided.
  • This position may be required to work across the various facilities throughout the West Moreton Health.
  • Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
